Opening Day at Steamboat Resort is a highly anticipated event each year from essentially the time the mountain closes. Both locals and visitors alike love opening day for its festivities, food, and of course – the snow. The kickoff to the season is always a party in itself, almost always happening the Wednesday before Thanksgiving Day.
The Season’s Grand Opening
Get ready to kickoff Steamboat Ski Resort’s 2024/25 season on November 23rd! The festivities start at 7:30am, and the gondola and chairs start spinning at 8:30am. All passes are valid on opening day, including both Ikon passes. See below for the opening day festivities!
Festivities to Enjoy
This year’s festivities include:
– Complimentary Powder Day Donuts and Korbel Mimosas (while supplies last)
– Free Opening Day T-shirt designed by Ohana and Smartwool Socks for the first 100 skiers/riders in line
– Donation presentation to the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club
– The countdown to the official start of the 2024-25 season and ringing of the Champagne Powder ® Snow Bell
